DESCRIPTION: HYDROCEL is purified ALPHA CELLULOSE. It is white to off white, odourless, tasteless, free from organic and inorganic contaminations. It is insoluble in water, dilute acids, and in mostly all organic solvents. Practically insoluble in Sodium Hydroxide solution. HYDROCEL, which has now become a synonymous name in Welding rod, Enzymes and Filter aid Industries, is a must for quality as well as quantity products.

HYDROCEL is considered to be stable product and is packaged in a sealed manner. The product has no specific requirement for storage, and there is no expiration date. However, it may absorb moisture if exposed to the atmosphere with a relative humidity higher than 65%.


HYDROCEL is packaged in net 40 Kg in HDPE woven sack bag with inside two HM liners. Packaging can also be done in Fiber drums if required.


HYDROCEL In Welding Electrode

Application: -In casting material of welding electrodes HYDROCEL is used in considerable quantities. High cellulose content ensures correct burning of electrodes. HYDROCEL is a inert material and it leaves practically nothing after incineration and provides reduced atmosphere due to decomposition of organic material present in HYDROCEL thus it prevents oxidation. Resultant welding will be free from pinholes, cracks etc. HYDROCEL having wonderful free flowness helps in smooth extrusion of electrode without any cracks on its surface. HYDROCEL, which has now become a synonymous name in Electrode world, is a must for all of grades of quality electrodes.

Quantum to be used: The amount to be used in Welding Rod Industries depends on the quality of Welding electrodes and other ingredients in the flux. Percentage of HYDROCEL in Electrode Flux Reported is given below.

Hydrocel in Enzyme Production

Enzyme Cellulase is being used in various industries for different applications. Enzyme Cellulase has demand in textile industry for fabric finishing and fabric softening, in detergent industry for colour brightening, softening and soil removal, in wine industry for clarification of wine, in protein industry for extraction of protein and in some more industries.

We offer Cellulose Powder as a substrate to utilize in Enzyme Cellulase production. Our cellulose powder is manufactured from special quality wood pulp. It is processed very carefully to remove amorphous part of cellulose and crystalline part of cellulose is retained. It is free from any harmful foreign material and is very good substrate for Trichoderma species. Our cellulose powder is already been used by some industries for making Enzyme Cellulase.

Supercel for filteration :-


NB's Supercel filter aid is Cellulose product. Virgin stock pulps are being used for Supercel.

What is a filter aid?

A filter aid is a permeable layer from which impurities can be trapped, thus prevents premature clogging of the support cloth(Filter cloth, Wire mesh, Ceramic filters etc.).

Why Supercel should be used?

Supercel is fibrous structure, rough surface, large porosity, higher flow rate, less pressure drop and longer cycle time and is a food grade.


Supercel is used both in beverage and industrial filtration and also for high quality product filtrations. It is an excellent filter aid because it precoats quickly, provides good cake stability, cleans quickly, prevents bleed-through and can be burned to reduce desposal costs.

Supercel is good depositing media during filtration of galvanic baths and organic solutions.Many substances such as precious metals can be recovered by incinerating the filter cake. Due to fine fibrous structure and specific surface of the Supercel, good filtration is obtained.

Absorbs oil and breaks emulsions to prevent contamination of screens.

Some of the processes use catalyst to optimize reaction performance.It is usually added in fine grades (Large reactive surface). Due to fine separation of the catalyst from the corrosponding reaction mixture is not possible, which we can get recycled by filtration with Precoat Supercel fibre.


Used when soluble silica threatens the filtrate.

Supercel for brine polishing filter

Alpha cellulose, as an effective filter media has been well established and accepted for brine filtration with the advent of membrane cell technology. This filter aid cellulose has versatile advantages, is technically economical, and is eco-friendly too, since it is biodegradable. Polishing of brine is necessary to remove the solid impurities even less than 0.3 micron with the help of the filter aid coating on filters. Consumption (T/T of Sodium Hydroxide) of alpha cellulose is reported to vary from 0.27 to more than 0.4 depending upon the grade vis--vis the pressure drop requirement. Filtration cycle time varies accordingly in the range of 27 hours to 62.5 hours that also depends upon the flow rate.

There are a Dozens of advantages over Conventional Filter aid, as Follows.

  • Non-toxic: SUPERCEL Fiber is a 100% pure cellulose product and is absolutely non-toxic.

  • Biodegradable: SUPERCEL Fiber is powdered cellulose, manufactured from virgin pulp stock. Therefore, as a natural product, SUPERCEL Fiber is produced from a renewable source. Once SUPERCEL Fiber leaves the filter, it is completely biodegradable. When backwashes onto the lawn, SUPERCEL Fiber will mulch much like grass clippings. Once dried, incineration is another viable option.

  • Lightweight Product: SUPERCEL Fiber is significantly lighter in weight than traditional Diatomaceous earth (DE) material (approximately half the weight of DE). Because you use only 1/3-1/2 as much SUPERCEL Fiber to do the same job as DE, and experience 2-6 times longer filter runs, the quantity of SUPERCEL Fiber to handle and dispose is 1/10 or less the equivalent amount of DE.

  • Non-abrasive: As a soft, pure, cellulose product, SUPERCEL Fiber is easy on the filtration and equipment, especially backwash valves, pump seals, and impellers, heaters, and the piping system.

  • Improved Filtration: With SUPERCEL Fiber, you will experience 100% filtration. Being a fibrous material, SUPERCEL Fiber will often "Weave" over small ruptures in filter grids. All dirty pool water is forced to pass through a path of SUPERCEL Fiber, removing particles down to 2 microns. With no dirty water by-pass, your water will be polished to a new level of clarity never before experienced with DE. This 100% filtration feature is especially important of older, worn filter systems and grids.

  • Save Water and Chemicals: With longer filtering cycles, you will not be backwashing large volumes of chemically treated (and heated) water. There will also be less water required for backwashing.

  • Longer Filter Cycles: Nearly every pool filter when converted from DE to SUPERCEL Fiber experiences much longer filter cycles. SUPERCEL Fiber forms a filter coating or cake with far more dirt holding capacity than normal pool DE which results in longer filtering cycles.

  • Save Time and Labor: Because SUPERCEL Fiber is only half as dense as DE, when backwashing your filter, all of the SUPERCEL Fiber will easily wash away from the grids. Gone is the problem of caking, filter teardowns, and labor intensive cleaning. You will backwash and recharge with SUPERCEL Fiber in less than half the time.

  • Removes Oils: SUPERCEL Fiber as a powdered cellulose material has a natural affinity for body and tanning oils found in the water of every pool. When converting an existing system, SUPERCEL Fiber will "clean up" oils (filter cycles may be initially shorter) and reduce scum lines on your pool.

  • Mixes Easily: Pre-coats rapidly. SUPERCEL Fiber as a 100% pure cellulose product wets out extremely easily. Uniform slurry is rapidly achieved which form a more uniform coating or "cake" on the filter grids, resulting in a more effective filtration surface area.

  • Filters, SUPERCEL Fiber: Filter SUPERCEL Fiber will "top coat" the sand bed, enhancing filtration, and most importantly, SUPERCEL Fiber will completely backwash from the sand bed.

  • Economical: SUPERCEL Fiber is economically very competitive even with the lowest DE prices available. Customers have found that SUPERCEL Fiber is competitive and provides numerous features and benefits of operation that easily make it the filter media of choice over DE or any other media.

  • Inert: Cellulose is an inert against Water, Solvent and Alkalies.
